THANKS!

FAVES wants to thank everyone who made Reel Spokane: A Homegrown Film Event such a success. The Magic Lantern's big theatre was packed - about 90 people showed up to watch short films by local filmmakers!

We received some great films in a variety of genres from filmmakers around the Inland Northwest. Hopefully everyone who contributed will continue to produce interesting work, and some of those in the audience got inspired to start new projects. It was a really fun night!

Thanks to everyone who came to Reel Spokane and especially contributors Sean Kavanaugh, Aaron Fink, Janice Jarzabek, Chad Christensen, Ira Gardner, Gabriel Brown, Nathan Brand, Lindy & Kris Boustedt, Laurin Furry, Jonah Vigil and Jason McKee.

Special thanks to the Magic Lantern Theatre (www.magiclanternspokane.com) for hosting the event, Dumbgun (www.dumbgun.com) for designing the Reel Spokane poster and FAVES logo, and the Spokane International Film Festival (www.spokanefilmfestival.org) for supporting the event.

DECEMBER SOCIAL HOUR

Because FAVES hosted Reel Spokane on December 15th, there's no panel meeting this month. However, there WILL be a social hour at 5:30pm on Tuesday, December 29th at Isabella's. Come have a drink, trade business cards and chat it up with other film industry junkies.

Isabella's is next to the Magic Lantern at 21 W. Main in downtown Spokane. Visit www.isabellaspokane.com for more about the restaurant.

SpIFF!

Mark your calenders: the 12th annual Spokane International Film Festival (SpIFF) starts one month from today on January 28th, 2010. Running until February 7th, SpIFF will screen a variety of films from across the globe at AMC, The Garland and The Magic Lantern Theatres.

SpIFF will kick off with an Opening Night Party at River Park Square on Jan 28th and finish with a Filmmaker's Workshop at the Magic Lantern on Feb 7th. Get more information, check showtimes and buy tickets at www.spokanefilmfestival.org.
