This month’s free to the public event begins at 5:30PM with a Social Hour downtown in the Saranac building’s Lobby (25 W Main, Spokane, WA). At 6:30PM, we’ll move into The Magic Lantern Theater for a panel of film and video editors who will take some time out of their busy schedules to share their knowledge and experiences with us. Our guests will include:

Director Juan Mas gave Payne his “big break” as a film editor with the film “The Choke.” Over the last four years, he has edited many features including “The Cutter” starring Chuck Norris, family films “Frank” and “The Family Holiday,” and the recently released action/comedy “Lies & Illusions” starring Christian Slater and Cuba Gooding Jr. He is celebrating his eight-year anniversary at NXNW, where he continues to work as senior editor and post production supervisor.
Matt Norbut, a native of Western Washington, grew up on the shores of the Puget Sound. He graduated from The Art Institute of Seattle, where he was awarded Best Portfolio during his final year of film school. Shortly after graduation, he started working for Pravda Studios in Seattle and worked his way up to Lead Editor and Post Manager. Over the next few years, he worked with a wide range of clients, including Microsoft, XBOX, Boeing, American Heart Association, Edelman, JWT NEW YORK, CASA and Washington Mutual.
